I'm good at understanding the way a person feels. I have a way of knowing what they feel. Even if I never experienced what they did I think I will understand them because I have a way of understanding some things. I like chatting with my friends online because I think I talk to them more on the internet than in person! I don't know why, though. I like to hang out with my friends and make them laugh. I don't really like to listen to the music most people listen to (e.g., hip-hop, R&B, etc.) I like to listen to my kind of music. Indian and Punjabi music! I like to go to Jackson Heights because most of the people there are Desi. Being desi means to be from countries that are Asian. Such as, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, etc.

As I said before I like Indian and Punjabi music. They are completely different from rap or hip-hop. But in some ways they are similar. I started to listen to Indian and Punjabi music since I was able to talk!!! I really like that kind of music because it has a good beat to it and because it's me! Many of my friends listen to Indian and Punjabi music.

The same way I don't listen to English music, the same way I don't watch English music. I watch Hindi movies. I think Indian movies are much better than English movies. Indian movies are more realistic. You can really relate to these movies. They all have morals in them and you can learn some things from it. I know reel and real life is so different but some times I do relate myself to those movies! Even though you won't know what movie I'm talking about I'm still going to tell you what my favorite movie is. My favorite music is Veer-Zaara. Veer the male main character in the movie is Indian and Zaara the female main character in this movie, is Pakistani. Back then falling in love was a sin so imagine falling in love with a different race. That's really bad, at least to some people. But Veer and Zaara fell in love, but Zaara was already engaged to a guy. But Veer didn't know that. And due to circumstances they were kept apart from each other for 22 years. Zaara was going to marry her fiancé, but she thought Veer died in a bus accident, while he was going back to India. So Zaara decided not to get married but instead go to India and fulfill Veer's dream. While Zaara was in India, Veer was in jail. He was in jail because Zaara's fiancé put him there. So for 22 years Veer didn't talk to anyone until his lawyer, Saamiya, talked to him. Well finally at the end Veer and Zaara were reunited. I love this movie because the weird thing is that this is a true story. I couldn't believe that when I heard that. Imagine living without the person you love for 22 years. I think I would've died! I saw this movie with my sister, mom, and dad. My sister and Dad cried, but I just held it in.

My favorite show is 'That's so Raven', yes it's English. I think that show is so funny. Whenever I watch it I feel so much better because I'm actually laughing because I'm happy. I don't play computer games anymore. I only use the internet to do my homework and of course to chat with friends.

Even though these people didn't do anything historical they are heroes to me. One of my heroes or should I say heroine is my sister. You don't know what she's been through but she's been through a lot. And I love her for still having hope.

I would say that my moto is if you give me 100% respect, I'll give you 100% respect. I have a reason to saying that. You don't give me respect I won't give you respect. That's the way it is!!! Another moto I have is forget about the [past], think about the future. I know a person who keeps talking about the past and is hurting the love of their life because of the past. That is why I say don't live on the past, think about the future.

My favorite book this year was The Burn Journals by Brent Runyon. Right now I'm reading The Day the Voices Stopped by Ken Steele. I would recommend The Burn Journals to teens who are thinking of suicide.
[edit] My Life at School
It's been my third year at East Side Community High School. I think this school is pretty good. I was going to transfer schools last year but I stayed. I felt like something good was going to happen this year. Well that feeling was wrong but oh well. I'm staying. I think the students aren't half bad. That's the only reason I stayed. I like the classes. There are very small classes. The teachers really care about the students. They will get into the student's personal life if they have to. I don't have a favorite subject. My least favorite subject is...math. Not because the class is boring but because the class is too hard for me. Top block is very hard.

I don't have plans for the future. I want to go to college but I don't know what I want to major in. This year I hope to get high honors. It's so hard to get honors imagine high honors. I'm going to have to work extra hard.

I wonder what I'm going to be when I grow up. This is a crazy question, but when am I going to get married. LoL. I want to get married so I can stop going to school. Why do people have such a big problem with religion? If there is supposedly one god then why is there so much controversies??? Why is it that some teens, like me, are kept on lockdown?

I was born here, in New York City but my parents aren't from here. My parents are not from the same countries. My dad is from Bangladesh and my mom is from Guyana. I used to live in the lower east side. I used to live in a studio apartment.
