Solutions For Charging Objects Problems

From High School Online Collaborative Writing

[edit] Solutions

1. If the glass rod becomes positively charged, it means that the glass rod has a deffieciency of electrons. So the electrons must have transfered to the silk which makes the silk negativley charged from the gain of electrons from the glass rod.

Option D.

2. Remeber that if the two objects do not touch, redistrubtion occurs. This process is called induction. Option D.

3. If the rubber rod becomes negatively charged, it means that it has en excess of electrons meaning that the electrons went from the fur to the rod. This means that the fur will now have a deffiency of electrons meaning it will be postivley charged.

Option B.

4. Charge is not destroyed or created so the total charge, eventhough redistrubted or transfered, still remains the same. So the answer is

Option C.
