Hierarchy is a system of ranking and organizing things or people. A person that has more authority then anyone else. A grouping of people or things within a system

For example at a school the Hierarchy is the prinicipal and then comes the people under the principal. Another example of this is during the Slave time the person in charge had choosen religious rules for them.
