What is this?Edit

There are houses on fire in a small town. The people who live in this town are running away in fear. In the far background there are Africans and it looks like they are starting to revolt. There is a boat that looks like it's being attacked by the Africans. It looks to be that some people are so afraid that they have fainted.

What do we know about it?Edit

Africans were sold and enslaved in the process of the Triangular Trade. They got tired of being tortured, controlled and worked to death so in 1793, in St. Domingue they decided to revolt.

Why should a high school student study this object?Edit

This image is important because shows how the Africans faught for their rights and didn't allow the Whites to dominate them anymore. This image also shows how the Africans were expressing themselves in how they felt because it shows that they were tired of taking orders and not be able to live their lives like everyone else.
