What is this?Edit

There are people walking, talking to each other, working. There are animals eating off the ground. There are sugar plantation and houses surrounding them. There are mountains,trees. this is a picture of the sugar plantations were the slaves worked.It also shows a picture of a tree in the field and a describtion of it on top.

What do we know about it?Edit

In an article, "History of the Dominican Republic," from Wikipedia article, it says,"in 1510 the first sizable shipment, consisting of 250 Black Latainos, arrived in Hispanola from Spain." These slaves were used to raise sugar on plantations like this one. In this picture the sugar plantations are shown in the middle of the field.

Why should a high school student study this object?Edit

A high school studeny should study this object because it shows how people were miss treated.
