Ammeter

From High School Online Collaborative Writing

Ammeter is a device used for measuring the amount of current in an electric circuit. Since current is measured in units of amperes, the ammeter tells you how many amperes run through your circuit...

The earliest design of an ammeter was invented by a french guy called D'Arsonval in 1882. It was called galvanometer and was a mechanical device - a current passing through a coil inside a magnetic field causing a needle to move and show the current current. Today some of the ammeters available are digital and use ADC (analog-digital converter).

Anyway here are some pictures of ammeters in case you have nothing else to do:

If you want to buy an ammeter you could get it for about 15$ at places like RadioShack. Cheaper ones are available at eBay.com
